While working on this large canvas of an imagined seascape, Marcello came across a book depicting the figure in motion and decided to add some in the foreground. He enjoyed it so much and kept on adding them everywhere-jumping, dancing, walking, eleven or more in total. It resembled a crowded and joyful nudist colony! But they obscured his waves too much. He painted them out though slight traces can be seen if one looks closely. What remains is a more tender scene with a very unique sandcastle- the Florence Cathedral.
